Mono-Juice Feasting (Nectar)- Healing Journey Day 12

Journal:
You know, everyday I write this blog post to keep you up-to-date on my journey, I can’t believe how much time has gone by since I’ve actually taken a bite of something. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that I would do something like this. It’s totally out of my comfort zone, but I am truly benefitting from amazing self-discipline along the way. This is truly an incredible journey.

Today was a rough day. Today was the kind of day where it would have been better to just stay in bed. But with a lot of prayer and God’s ever-loving kindness to me, He gave me enough strength to get through the day. The only problem was, my dream of getting home at the end of the day and just relaxing was short-lived as I was late getting home and my dog gave me grief for the rest of the evening. I did not get any reprieve today. But even so, I do have one big thing to celebrate, and that was what I drank today.

I will soon be actually taking a bite of fruit!!!! It’s coming!! So in transition, I made today a little different than the regular juice. I, instead, had a nectar; apricot nectar to be specific. Now, remember how I had been dreading drinking more juice because it just seemed to get sweeter and sweeter? Well, this stuff was like a little piece of heaven, and it wasn’t even organic. Oh, if only I could describe what it was like to you. The thing is, I’m pretty sure I’ve had this apricot nectar before but it didn’t taste as good to me then. Now, it was perfection. Such a reprieve from anything that was too sweet before, yet still sweet enough to be satisfying. The liquid being thicker than the normal juice was also something I loved. I can tell the food is coming!!

Now, what would be interesting to find out is whether the ingredients made this more to my satisfaction. Unfortunately, it wasn’t until the end of the day that I noticed they added sugar. It amazes me that the regular juices with no added sugar would taste sweeter than this with added sugar. It’s definitely something to think about. I’ve always found it interesting to see how our body reacts to unnatural things.

I didn’t go to the gym today, but I did do a workout at home. I had a pair of 10 lb dumbbells that I used to do squats, pushups, tricep kickbacks, bicep curls, hamstring curls, lunges, shoulder press, upright rows, and wall sits. I got in a very decent workout and it helped me feel a bit better after the day I had been having.

I finished the day with a candy assembly line as we made variety bags for an upcoming softball tournament. They smelled great and for someone who hasn’t had candy in a long time, looked appetizing as well. But not once did I slip. It was a success.

How much did I drink today? 3L with no issues. In fact, I probably could have drank more… There’s got to be something to this added sugar. It’s got me thinking…

Review of Symptoms:
-Acne is pretty much the same. Perhaps a little duller, but still patiently waiting for a noticeable improvement.
-Tongue did not need scraped this morning. So happy!
-Felt good except one little stomach upset feeling that lasted about 5-10 minutes at the very end of the night. Still unsure as to what causes this.
-Energy kept up through my incredibly NOT GOOD day and even into everything I did in the evening.
-Strength was better than expected during workout.
-Elimination was good today. Perhaps my transition to nectar is also kickstarting digestion again.

Weight at the end of the day = 178.2 lbs (up 1.2 lbs from yesterday)

Total Calories = 1,536 (99% carbs, 0% fat, 1% protein)

Eating While Sick

I thought I was doing well while I was away with my students. But wouldn’t it figure, the day after I got back, it all began in my nose. I HATE sore throats and sinus problems. I just want to BREATHE properly. But as I sat and wondered what could have possibly made me sick, I came up with a short list:

1. A kid may have been sick (but to be honest, never saw one the entire time).
2. My escapade on the dirty, cold, concrete floor. Whatever was on that floor I was obviously breathing in for over an hour. This could be a much better possibility.
3. I did not eat very “vegan” the whole weekend, and was much more vegetarian. I did not have all of the fresh nutrients and vitamins I would normally get from fresh produce. I could see this maybe not being the cause of me getting sick, but perhaps an assistance in lowering my immune system.
4. Lack of sleep. I did not sleep much at all on this trip. Lack of sleep and an increase in activity could easily run you down.

Whatever the reason may be, it’s no doubt in my mind that at least 3 of the above (I’m really thinking an “imaginary” sick kid got me sick) aided in my sickness. Whatever the case, it is important to up the nutrient/vitamin intake when you are sick. So here is what I’m currently doing.

I’m trying to eat raw fruit fairly regularly. When I was out today, I made sure to stop and get a fresh juice that contained carrots, cucumber, ginger, spinach, and lemon. I can’t remember if there were oranges in it or not. But I also got some kombucha and whatever veggies/fruit I thought would help increase the extra vitamins for my body to use right now. The only huge problem is that my appetite is so small. I can only eat so much at a time, and am rarely feeling hungry right now. I think it’s super important that as long as you can stomach food, you should remind yourself to eat every so often. Just because you don’t feel hungry doesn’t mean your body wouldn’t benefit from the extra nutrients and energy that it takes to fight sickness.

One more tip that is super important for anyone who is sick is to avoid dairy. Dairy produces extra mucous in your body, and if you’re like me, you get tired of blowing your nose so much and possibly even coughing up the awfulness. So if you want to get rid of it faster, quit the dairy intake!

Week 2 Day 3

Talk about sick. I honestly thought it wouldn’t get any worse. But this morning, I knew better than to go to work. I knew I wouldn’t be able to handle the day feeling this awful, so I called in for a sub and stayed home.

I didn’t sleep much, and I definitely didn’t eat much. Sticking to my diet plan, for the challenge I’m working so hard for, just was not foremost on my brain today. I needed to shift into the mindset of healing my body and getting better quickly. I drank fresh fruit smoothies to up my vitamin and antioxidant content in my body. I drank kombucha tea which I have found to be a good tea for any health situation. I ate soup to benefit from vegetables and the comfort of a warm broth. And I ate a small amount of bread to help me feel fuller while still being gentle on my stomach.

Simple foods.

Simple foods.

The funny part about the whole day is I couldn’t sleep. Normally when I am sick, I sleep most of the day away. But today was different. I could barely sleep. So I instead worked on my yearly plans and professional growth plan and conquered a fair amount of teacher work.

When evening came, I battled with my brain. I wanted to go to the gym so badly. I miss the gym. It’s a way of life for me. Plus I have my challenge pushing me. I was so tempted to just “suck it up” and go to the gym regardless of how I felt.

It probably took about an hour for me to mentally battle myself into realizing that if I did go to the gym, I’d probably make myself worse. If I at least waited one more day, I could still make up my workouts this week and provide myself with more time to get better. So when my husband went to the gym, I went to bed.

You Have To Ask Yourself This!

Hello everyone,

I saw this question last night, and it hit me, bang on! If this question had been posed to me, I would have only had one answer, and still do. Here is the question:

Image

Honestly, if you care about your body at all, and the only change is not getting rid of something but simply replacing it with something better, how could you say no? Normal coffee is dehydrating, acidic, causes a caffeine crash, etc… And yet OG has infused coffee with ganoderma and it completely erases all of these negative things! And not only does it erase them, but it actually ADDS health benefits such as increased energy, better immunity, HYDRATES, lowers blood pressure, etc… The list of health benefits goes on and on. And with OG, you can get paid to drink coffee. No joke. It’s the easiest thing I’ve ever done and got paid to do.

So I want you to ask yourself this morning, why would I continue down a path that is not making me any better when there is an opportunity set before me where I don’t have to get rid of anything, I don’t have to change any habits, but I simply change the product in which I drink? Why damage my body when I can benefit it? Why do I sit and drink what the majority of the world drinks when I could be drinking something that only 1% of coffee drinkers worldwide have been drinking and feeling the most amazing of their lives?

The thing is, OG is a newer company, but the results have been astounding. I could tell you stories of people I’ve personally talked to that have been able to remove medications (blood pressure pills, morphine for pain) just because of drinking OG daily. I could tell you stories of the man who was able to get rid of his oxygen tank because of drinking OG products. I could tell you of the energetic people they have become because of OG. I could tell you so many things and give you a million reasons why OG coffee, tea, and other gourmet products are the way to go. And the best part is, coffee has no limits! OG is in 33 countries!!

So ask yourself, what is really stopping me from being in the healthiest state of my life? What is stopping me from trying to get rid of daily medications or pains like the people stated before? Why am I suffering when I could be happier? And why am I not trying this product today?

Message me and I will have your free samples sent out by the end of the week. This is not something you’re going to want to miss. Take the chance, make the change, and see the way your life becomes better!
